I say we keep an eye on the Mopar accessory and performance catalogs, if they start offering the bars or any other options that where discontinued we should call them on it.

Well I got the connector parts in today.. I had the bar and the bushings.. All the other parts cost 58.32 + tax.
We'll see how it goes..

Did your dealer charge you anything? Are you still happy with the setup? Do you have anything in writing that I could take to my dealer to get them to install my missing sway bar? Appreciate your help. |

Woo Hoo!!! I put the sway bar on our 03 LE today. I sent my girlfriend out on the test drive and her first comment was "What a difference!!! OMG."
The tail wiggle and the mini van feel is gone! I really don't care that the bar is only stock diameter. There is such a huge difference between an undersized bar and nothing at all. I saw the bar inside the rear axle but I haven't been able to compare it to the 2002 axle. Honestly I would much rather have the sway bar than the bar in the axle. If you are going to DIY I suggest getting a 5 inch c-clamp because the axle brackets don't quite fit bushings the 1st time. I also think this is a two person job because DC didn't put a nut on the axle mounting point.

Thanks for the tips Al I'll be trying to do this to my gt as soon as I get the hardware from DC. It'll be an aftermarket bar so I know about getting clamps to fit around the bushings . I ended up using vice grips to cinch down the clamps around the bushings.

I am glad to see that several Cruiser owners are reporting that they have installed the rear sway bar on the 03 models with good results. This definitely dispels the Myth that DC issued in their infamous letter that such installations would be detrimental to the handling characteristics. Am I the only one that is infuriated with DC's handling of this missing rear sway bar issue? In all other respects I love the GT, but my enthusiasm is ruined by the DC attitude in resolving or rather non resolvement of this matter. Most of us would be upset if we bought a new suit and it was missing a button. Wouldn't we take it back and get the button installed? Here we go out and buy a $20k + auto which the window sticker says includes a rear sway bar, but like the King's new set of clothes is invisible, and we sit here and are supposed to be quiet and accept our fate. Get real!

Although I'm pissed about the sway bar and will continue to campaign for getting the bar installed. I figure it's only $200 retail and life it too short..
