SciFi,
The top connecting locations are tapped already. The bottom bolt location is already drilled and just needs a nut on the back. the location for the bracket is already stamped out on the axle. Well at least it is on my 2003 LE. CalCruiser, As it came down in 2002..The difference between the regular suspension on the "sport/base" pt and the "touring" suspension on the TE and LE was a 16" wheel/tire combo instead of the 15" setup. Check the part numbers.. They are all the same. Also if you check the shop manual for 2003. There is a page that specifies "Rear Stabilizer Bar" as it reads on the window sticker. There has also been no proof provided by DC that they have strengthened the rear axle or changed the spring rates or made any other "improvements" than removing the sway bar. I would like to see 1 schred of evidence from DC that proves their change has "improved" the suspension. All we have to go by is an e-mail from a public relations employee. I think that the decision to remove the rear sway bar was made by a bean counting executive who loves rollercoasters.

In addition to what ContraAl says, while we were looking we saw some '03s that had the bar listed on the sticker. But there was no bar. I'd like to see the improvements that DC made.

Don't get me started on this BS story that Chrysler dishes out regarding the missing rear stabilizer bar. I get so upset that it affects my feelings for what in most other ways is a great car. I am one of the presumed idiots in the eyes of Chrysler that sees through their rediculous sham. Where is consumer protection when you need it?

I took my GT into the dealership this week and TOLD them my car is missing the sway bar that is on my window sticker. They checked it out and agreed with me and the mechanic said it was supposed to be there so he ordered all the parts for me. I am supposed to get it installed next week so if it happens and DC doesn't stop it I'll tell the difference. I had a 2002 with one I should have taken off when I traded but didn't. I checked all the other 7 turbo's at the dealer and all said they should have bars but none do.

Lots of luck. I had my dealer order the bar and parts. When I took the GT in to have it installed, they said it would cost me $520. When I balked and said it should have come with the car, they called Chrysler and got the by now well knowned nonsense reply. The dealer said that it was misleading, but if he was not going to get reimbursed by Chrysler there was nonthing that he could do. This was the second PT that I had bought through this dealer and before that I had gotten a Grand Cherokee through this same dealer. Yes, I was extremely ticked off. The fact that Chrysler has now removed the "rear stabilizer bar" from the window sticker is an admission of guilt. This is a grand example of how not to build consumer confidence in a car maker and dealer.
