so bosch is making the +4s now? I have the platinum champions now.

On a side question, is it better to go with new cams instead of nitrous? Nitrous would need extra space. Do the cams require 92 octane?

i am not a performance expert but i do believe (someone can correct me or back me up on this) but a high flow cat on a "near" stock motor would be a waste of money and would decrease your performance.

You don't need 92 octane for -10 cams/header/airaid,etc ...talking for experience ,here ! If you go sc or turbo higher octane is a must for proper performance.

#10 Cams are the best perf for the money. Don't do springs or bigger cams bigger than #10s, unless you do tensioner upgrades.

Synthetic Oil does reduce Frictional Horsepower Loss.
It's a little hard to belive 9HP though (About +8%)
Maybe that number is possible given the PT's long piston stroke, and resulting high piston speed, especially if the engine is new & extremly tight.

Some Dyno operators have commented on the difficulty of comparing sequential dyno runs on the PT due to the "adaptive" engine computer.

The PT Computer is supposed to "kick out" of the learning/adaptive mode when the throttle position is over 85% though.

The freer flowing intakes log better increases on in car G-Force meter HP calculation, than on a stationary dyno due to the ram air effect when moving also.

Lightened Crank Pulleys& or wheels/tires show little to no improvement on the Dyno, but show thier increases "under acceleration" shen "spooling" up the rotating mass.

Just a litlle info. that may help & clarify.

From what Flashy and Bob and Brad have said, after you've done all the "deep breathing" mods, the Crane cams are the best way to really up the performance. But they do need to be installed with an upgraded tensioner--check out Flashy's threads in this forum about this. That's the route I was going to go myself (until I bought a Mopar muscle car to satisfy my need for speed). But it's not cheap. Race and Street quoted me a price of $2,800 to have the job done right.

How fast do you want to go? How much do you want to spend?

The #10's do not require you to change the valve springs, it is an option. If you upgrade to these cams and keep the stock springs, you should not run into problems. If you decide to go for the "stiffer' Crane spring, you better upgrade the tensioner.

ACTUALLY Brad (Powertrip) told me that the tensioner IS necessary with #10's! Now I'm not sure if that's every time, or because I've got the Whipple!

I heard that from Brad, too, and from Race and Street (Bill Rea) and Flashy's experience bears it out. It's certainly a wise precaution if you're going to do that mod.
