Default Cold air intake

Looking for a true cold air intake that is not sucking 95% of the hot air under the hood!

Unless some one figures out how to run the intake to the front grill area, just about the only thing your going to find is what’s out there now.

I like the K&N but think they have a few issues. A heat plate around the back side of the intake doesn't seem to me as a sufficient way to get cold air (open to the engine and its hot air). There are others that are the same way.

The Airaid has a box around it as well as cutting a little of the hood seal to suck more cold air in. There are several that offer this to. Maybe the nicest is if you combine the box type air intake with a true scoop type hood (Keystone 1 or 2 scoop intake) that channels the air to the intake you would get more air to the intake and maybe true cold air intake.

Just what I think though...

Mine is a true cold-air intake.

It's number 8 here:

It pulls air from the grille area beside the radiator air dam.
It's also insulated to keep the engine temps from increasing intake air temps.

Your intake is still inside the engine compartment. Mine is out side the engine compartment there for less chance of pulling hot air into the intake Also mine is in a high pressure area! I`m still looking for other ideas

And I suggested over a month ago that you submit your idea to www.ptdiy.net so we can see photos and a step by step guide.

I'm unwilling to drill a 3inch permanant hole in my firewall for an air intake. I'm on my second PT and make sure all the mods can be easily removed when I get my 3rd PT. Even the nitrous install only required one hole to be drilled.
These are just some things to consider.

I have the Keystone Good Hood, which takes outside air into the hood scoop and forces it directly into the cold-air box with its K&N filter. It's definitely not sucking 95% of the hot air under the hood.
