Thumbs up first MPG check

My first MPG check on my new to me 2001 5spd. I drove it for a while to get used to shifting again. It was 22mpg. That was combined bumper to bumper and highway not to mention my liberal use of the size 13 foot which is attached to a 225 lb. body. I am pleased.

I am looking foward to checking after I add
Synthetic oil, poweraid, K&N, platinum plug wires and coil, and suppertrapp muffler.

I am schedualed to do most of these on Monday the 27th

My mileage changes with each tank. I get 22 on one tank, the next will be 18 and I drive the same all the time, or at least I thought I did.

In May of '02 when my PT was brand new, I got 20. After that, it's been averaging 25.5, and it's very consistent unless I lean a bit harder on the accelerator.

I have read that because of the baffles in the tank you almost have to go to the same pump at the same station for each fill-up to get a real average.
