It's an expensive "route." My '88 Turbo II Dodge had the Getrag "rock crusher" tranny and it is a significantly beefed up unit. Someone heard I had a Turbo II setup and offered to buy my car just for the tranny--they're so darned expensive to buy aftermarket and forget about trying to rebuild them, cost-wise.

As I told you before, renichms, I think you'll be better off getting a car that will fulfill your need for speed. May I suggest:

I disagree somewhat. Things have changed sigificantly since those old TurboII days, and I am sure the price of the Getrag is much more resonable. Take a look at how resonable the complete engine is from Chrysler, even Bob was amazed at the 'new' pricing.
Personally, I am also going to look out for that tranny when it becomes available... Hey, that SRT-4 would make a nice winter beater too

Guess I missed that post, Brad. What is the pricing of the new turbo 2.4 engine?

People generally get the wrong ideas from comments like this but... cost is not important. I can come up with the money or find someone who will, now or later on in the future. Eventually, the car will have everything I want done to it...whether sooner or later is up in the air now.

I'm hoping to finish the car by early next summer.
