....!!?! ..... What might be the best answer to the GT manifold upgrade, ... would be for me to put together all the parts needed, ... drill and tap four holes in the manifold, 2-(1/8 pipe) and 2-(1/4 pipe), make a new EGR line that is a direct replacement and make it available to you guys at a reasonable cost, with instructions printed out.

This would make it a direct bolt on, ... with minimum work required.

If this sounds like something you would like me to do, ... let me know and I can get some prices together.

The manifolds are a hit and miss, "thing", .... from Chrysler right now. .... Some have come in a week and some in a month, ... so I would not be able to assure you of their delivery time. I can usually "Pole the Star computer" and find out how many are in the system and how many are on order. ... It's not a absoulte answer, but it is good to know if they will come fairly soon!

Let me know how many are interested at my e-mail address.

r.stockum@cox.net ... that wat we don't tie up the forum space!

Thanks, ... Bob

Felt it was time to bring this up top again. Phat Daddy's ride is awesome! but us low buck rodders are still stuck without the cash for the full blown turbo setup.

Now that you have done the turbo intake install, what do we need to get our NA rides going. I picked up a extra TB that I am hoping to send out to be bored out soon.

hope i'm not being too pushy, but then you are the PT guru

These part numbers can be had at your dealer. Here is a list of wht I have been using to do the intake upgrade.

lower intake manifold ............. 4884193AB .................$ 74.20
upper intake manifold ............ 4884190AD ................ 93.60
head to lower gasket .............. 4884195AA ................ 1.60
manif. to manif. gasket ........... 4884192AA ................ 1.45
man to TB gasket .................... 4891526AA ................ 3.20
Manif. support bracket rear .... 4884271AB ............... 6.70
Manif. support bracket front ... 4884419AA ............... 8.25

That's about $190 retail price from the dealer.

Some bolts will be needed to attach everything, ... the ones for the plastic manifold are not right, .... so a trip to the bolt store is required. I can get size, numbers and lengths for you.

The upper intake can be drilled and tapped for 1/4 NTP for three extra fittings for vacuum

The EGR pipe, I have been cutting off, just below the bend near the plastic manifold mounting point and tapping the pipe with 1/4 NPT and installing a fitting there as well. Then a 2" long piece of high-temp tubing connects the EGR to the manifold.

The injectors fit fine, the accelerator and cruise control cables and TB fit fine.

You would need to work out the air piping forn the air cleaner.

*** Availability of the parts, is the major reason I have not offered this as a kit! ... I don't want to take peoples money and then not be able to provide the product!!

Bob

Will you be considering "stocking" a kit of these parts? Thanks for doing all the work for us.Phat Dad's ride looks awesome. Wish I had the $$$$ to do that to my ride. But then I would have probably bought a GT because of the warranty.

Now would a bored out TB make any difference? I guess if I do the intake 1st, I could add the rest of the turbo later... hmmm... maybe this will be doable

Availability of the parts, is the major reason I have not offered this as a kit! ... I don't want to take peoples money and then not be able to provide the product!!

Add #10 or 12 Crane cams, header, upgraded tensioner kit from MOPAR pt # 5114069AA for ~ $176, (I think this is right), or the hydraulic, self-adjusting set-up, for ! $325, ... then the intake upgrade and bored TB and you will have a very respectable increase in perf. The cams are the single biggest power upgrade, but don't do it without a cam belt tensioner upgrade as well, (same time)!!!

The header and TB now can be used to their fullest!
Also, a good cold air intake will help as well. The two major concerns on a cold air intake will be "size", ... keep the piping as short as possible and as large as possible!! There hasn't been too much said about the size of the pipe, ... but the farther you travel, ... the larger the pipe needs to be, to prevent restrictions. 4" is not too big, ... but may be hard to fit in. 2.5" is the smallest I would recomend. ... just some thoughts here, .... peoples ideas often differ.
Second, is the air pickup point. Make sure you get coll air in or you are wasting your time and effort.

None of this would hinder the turbo later, except for the header, ... which you could sell later.

Thanks! ... Bob

Thanks! you've been a really big help on this. I love what I have done so far with the little amount of $$$ I have had to work with. I might have to "look you up" when I get the intake parts.

The TB question was because I scored a extra TB off of E-bay relatively cheap. It was there & I had the $$ at the time to buy it. I'm gonna send it out to be bored soon.
