OK heres a post recap so we all understand this swap. If I was to go with this intake manifold, had it modified as needed... I'd still be able to use the stock TB & air in take box for the time being. Then down the road add the rest of the turbo parts as needed. This sound about right?

Now, if I go this route, I could bore the TB, do some extra machine work on the manifold & still increase HP or should I say breathing till I can free up $$$ for the rest of the mods, tight?

Us lowbuck rodders are trying to squeak by as we can & still go forward.

last question, if this is all possible, will you be a distributor for a modifed version of this intake? I may be getting ahead of myself but this really peaked my interest. I would love to get a ready to go dropin "super" air intake that I didn't have to screw around with too much. Then I could take it to my custom shop & have them install for me.

Can you say business opportunity?!

Well he is working on a web site w/ "Goldfinger" one of our cruz members... oh of course Goldie drives a dream cruiser.

Ken has done my BTG dual exhaust, my AMSOIL upgrade & will be installing my AFX underdrive pulley as soon as I get it. He is the only shop in the area dedicated to PT cruisers & is reasonable in prices.

He just opened in August of 02, & is a small shop right now.
He is also becoming a JL audio dealer & other audio related/ electronic accessories.
I was an Installer in a former life/career, so some of the mods I do are done by myself. When I need a lift & heavy air tools I turn to him.

I plan on adding a hedman header & lowering springs in the near future. Maybe I'll have him do that also.

MNSHALE cruiser also knows Ken.

Your welcome to join a cruise anytime we have one... I believe there is a toys for tots run coming up soon... but I may have to work that weekend. I'll check my old e-mails at home (at work right now) & see if I can get you the info.

later

Hey guys!
Als PT will be in for the engine up-grade right after the holidays.
We're just finishing up ANTs mill now, so my first retro fit will come up in a couple weeks.

Thanks, ... Bob

Al's upgrade had to be moved towards the end of this month, Jan, ... so the final word will come then. (Ant's was so close to finishing up, ... but I needed some extra time for the windage tray and baffles and some other goodies we decided to add.

I have coached a fellow in Texas ,on the proceedure and it is working fine. We talked a number of times over the phone about ways to extend the EGR tube to the new manifold and came up with a simple solution.

Drill and tap the new manifold, in the blank boss, with 3/8 npt, (pipe tap). Put in an AN elbow, flair or compression fitting, either way is fine. Now drill and tap the EGR and install the same elbow fitting there. Point them at each other and connect with a piece of copper or metal tubing. It only requires a slight bend to line up.

I have not done the final fit of the manifold and vacuum lines cables all that, ... it will happen when we do it on Al's car.

Thanks! ... Bob
