Yea, she didn't go for the $$$. More so chrome, she likes my car with the silver rims. I guess I have to live w/ 16" wheels for now.

Question

Just a bump to see what the latest is on this for an otherwise stock engine?

Bobs been working on it... I believe it might be in another Thread.

I'm scrapping enough dough for him to do mine soon.

There is no "magic pill", ... for the PT engine. Keep one thing in mind, ... the PT engine, right out of the box, makes more power than the Daytona Turbo Z. ... So as naturally asperated four cylinder engines go, the PT is not too shabby.

For an otherwise stock PT engine, .... the GT intake will do nothing. Its greater flow potential will "allow the additional performance parts like bored throttle bodies and cams and port work to be fully realized. These additions help the PT now to some degree, ... cams being the biggest single factor. But the restriction in the end is the flow of the intake manifold.

Does this mean it is a bad idea? ... no, ... but the manifold by itself will not set you free! ... it is an "enabler".

Just like the stronger rods, allow you to make more power without blowing up your engine. By them selves, there is no power increase from installing them.

Uh Oh! I was interested because I thought I'd get a gain - just as in an intake like the K&N FIPK or AirAid, etc. Not a huge gain, but something I could feel. Wrong?????

No Don, I've been doing some emailing to Bob, you need to do a little more than just the intake... like add the bored TB or Cams. If you just do intake & nuthin else then it won't help much . Unless you are planning for more later like me

The intake will be an enabler, ... it may give you a little boost by it self, .... haven't done "just an intake yet". The intake will at least NOT be the major restriction in the system, ... like it is now! So anything you do in the future to improve air to the engine will get the expected response. Bored TB, cams, .... the traditional hot rod upgrades.

We may have a "guinea pig" for that part. MN SHALE has the K& N FIPK. no header or exhaust work yet. We're gonna add those later as we get $$$ & parts & a shop to do it. He could be a good canidate to see how she goes.

I talked to Al after Bob did his, and if I remember correctly, he said that now he won't have to take off the manifold to change plugs. That sounds like a winner just by itself!
