Any thoughts out there on losing the cat converter? We don't have smog testing here anymore

Yea even though you don't have testing if you get caught with it removed you are breaking a federal law with a $15,000 fine plus it wouldn't run right. unless you found a way to fool the sensors.

A 0 cost way to lighten it by 100 pound is to remove the rear seats

Thumbs up hedder is installed

Finally got the hedman 4-2-1 hedder installed today

but we also got 6 inches of snow... so I can't really try it out.

Anyway... I'm getting closer to my goal.

62 plymough savoy 318 stripper 2 dr 3080#
66 273 Cuda automatic about 3000#
71 Audi 100LS 2700#
several later Sentras about 2650 2700 lbs.
ITS A PIG.
Stock condition, 3250 lbs est div by 150 hp =21.6 lbs/hp

yeah I managed to press the POST button...

so its 110 lbs
plus 20 for rear parcel shelf
door panels? maybe 25 each = 100
but add back 50 for custom lightweight ones = 50 net
so far have lost 180 lbs.
Lighter wheels could be found, maybe
save 8# per wheel = 32 for total of 210 lbs rounded.

Or approx 10 hp gained so far by diet.
add 10 hp headers
add 5 hp air intake and cold air
maybe another 15 with aftermarket computer?
total now over stock is 40 or we are close to 190 hp.

Cost, guesstimating
weight watchers, nothing
lw door panels 4 x 40 = 160
wheels lets say 4 x 90 = 360
headers est 700 total?
air intake stuff 60 bucks
computer has to be 250 +
another 80 for prof install and tuning.
total cost 40 hp is approx $1600
or just about $40 per horsepower.

Doesnt sound particulary cheap but think it
would certainly give you a lot more FTD factor

Anyone else?

I had a thought at the dealers yesterday ( getting recall work done) I could go the express route... Just buy that electric blue GT TURBO & be there already

What I could do if I only had some extra $$$
