Hey I was thinking... (there I go again). If I put on headers & some other after market stuff till I can afford a turbo, what happens to the headers after the turbo install/
Don't I need to get exhaust gasses to spool up the turbo. Is'nt this some sort to air/exhaust looped system.

I got into a disscussion iwth someone last week about this.

I'd like to as much bolt on till I can fill that gap ($$$) & but the turbo on.

Too bad, no matter how I look at it, the turbo is just gonna be out of the budget for awhile.

Things to do now, that won't kill the buget or the engine;

Crane #10 cams, (Leave the valve springs stock )..
adjustable gears, .. (have the cam timing set properly)
Up-grade the cam belt tensioner ... (must do item)
underdrive pulley, (you'll be there anyway)
Coolest air you can get ... (even if you make it yourself)
Header is good, .. (but will be a sale item when turbo shows up)

Most of this will be needed if you go serious turbo anyway, ... I like NOT wasting money!

Question: How does the computer handle new cams? I'm assuming one with more overlap where the valves are both open together longer. Do the sensors feedback enough info that cause the computer to re-adjust automatically to the new cams, or does it handle it by some other means?

Crane #10 cams, (buy from Crane)..
adjustable gears, .. (where to buy?)
Up-grade the cam belt tensioner ... (mopar performance/Neon?)
underdrive pulley, (will be in soon ... backordered )
Coolest air you can get ... (make myself )
Header is good, .. (well we'll see)

Am I missing anything besides plugs & wires? Ignition module not worth it, neither is poweraid spacer... right?

Oh yea, cam & gears should be done together? or can I do one or other first... or since top of motor is apart should go ahead & do... I guess I answered my own question.

I modified my stock air box to a 3" opening going to the fender well. Also added the strut tower brace.

It seems to run a bit better & definitly handles much better. I know its not much but it is some improvement.

Till I can afford to get the turbo...

I'll keep you all posted on how it goes. We're gonna try & retrofit the stock heat shield back on, if I can get a digital camera I'll try & get pix of progress. & yes it is a 4-2-1 header!

Also have under drive pulley on order, sooo if it shows up tomorrow or Sat it will get installed also!
