Been reading this thread with great interest. I have a custom twin exhaust fitted to my PT. Was done at our local exhuast specialist using off the shelf parts and tips.
Like many folks have posted here, ours too drones more once you get over 3200rpm. At first I thought I wasn't going to be able toput up with it as I do a LOT of driving at motorway speeds up and down the UK. But these days I hardly notice it and it certainly doesn't interfere with conversation or listening to cd's. As someone has already mentioned, I guess this is part of the deal of removing the stock system and adding your own. Yeah, we all love the blub blub blub when we come off the gas and I personally love the echoing effect you get when you race thru streets (tunnels are the best!!) and the looks I get off people. Those last points make up for any droning I get in the cabin. I would never go back to a "stock" type system....if it got too much for me, I'd invest in a shed-load of sound-deadening gear! Just my 2p! (as usual!)

Looks like I found a solution
I put a longer pipe off the flow master yesterday and it made a pretty big difference. You see I asked my old tip be used when the Flow was installed so it was pretty short. It just made it to the cut out. So I put a new long one that goes out about 4 to 5 inches past the cut out. This moved the sound out behind the car as opposed to right under the rear hatch. The drone is still there but is it's significantly lower. Also the longer pipe "seems" to have made the blub,blub sound cooler. Im a happy camper once again.

you can try this as well. just put it in line at a break in the pipe.
