Question Lowered Cruisers in the snow

Does anyone out there with a lowered Cruiser have any experiences in snow driving that they could share? Did the front end scoop too much snow and act like a big plow? Make sure you give details about snow depth and quality (dry powder, heavy/wet or slushy melt). Winter driving on untended roads is a fact of life for me and I have take it in consideration before I lower my Cruiser.

I drove with stock springs and Bruizer kit and had no problem but I don't know how it would be if lowered...

FYI,

For the cost of most insurance deductables, you can buy a winter beater car.

My PT, Miata, and show cars will NEVER see snow.

Buy another beater every winter. Sell it in the spring for a demolition derby car.

I love my Cruiser but it is an all-weather car for me. It already has been through one winter (a very mild one). I'm not crazy, though- I run snow and ice tires on all four wheels. I do remember one highway trip taken at 15 degrees where the chin spoiler looked like a giant comb from all the icescicles hanging down( frozen road spray ). I like the idea of a lower center of gravity for improved ice handling but ground clearance is pretty important when the white stuff accumulates.
A beater car would be nice but I really don't have the parking available to me in the winter- there is no on-street parking during the winter months so the plows can get through and we will soon add a "sort-of" beater for my daughter to drive when she finally gets her license, making a total of four vehicles that we have to park. At least the Cruiser and the Bimmer get to live in the garage.

I have been driving extreemly lowered cars and trucks for about 15 years. and never have i had any problen what so ever with snow. This includes 4 years in Michigan winters! The only time you mau have a problen is if you have a lower than stock front cover line the Bruiser. The bruiser and the 3 inch goldlines leave little room....I would not sugest it.( even though that is exactly what i am doing). Factory front and any drop springs will do fine!

Well, this will be my first PT winter here in Buffalo and when we get snow like we did last Christmas, I just get a sixpack and wait it out.

If it's that bad out and the roads are clogged with snow, cuddle up in front of the fire with your honey and wait for the plows!

Hey PT Blueman- What type of snow tires did you mount? I mounted Dunlop Graspic DS-1 on my factory 16 inch rims ( after 1 season, I can't recommend these snow tires. They suck in the slush and handle like the wheels are about to come off in any temperature above 25 degrees. Despite being a 205/55-16 tire , they were almost a full inch wider than the stock Goodyears at the contact patch- a real problem in the white stuff.) I have had good expeiences with Bridgestone Blizzaks and Yokohama Guardex 600's ( my favorite for all winter conditions ) on other vehicles but all distributers were out of stock for the Cruiser's size when it was time to order .
