 I think achr hit it on the head - before you go looking for an internal engine fix try changing fuel brands. Whoever does all the polls should try this one: How many PT Cruiser owners complaining of rough idle switched from a 6 or 8 cylinder car? 4 cylinder motors are very sensitive to fuel quality. My rough idle problem went away with a regular regimen of Dry-gas ( every 6-8 weeks) and not letting my tank get less than 1/3 full. Sometimes the best solution to a problem is the simplest.
