When it comes to fuel economy, I'm not sure there's an easy way to improve it without going to a diesel option.
The PT just *isn't* very aerodynamic and is a hefty li'l car and that affects mileage. A V-6 in another car might use less gas than the 2.4L in the Cruiser, but put that V-6 in the Cruiser and don't be surprised if mileage suffers accordingly. Personally, I like the styling and features of pre-'06 Cruisers very much. Don't fix it if it ain't broke... However, it sure seems like *if* there's a next PT, it won't look anything like the original. ![]() |

You wanna be heard? Check out their new blogs.
They do post negative comments, and they do read them. Quite surprising, actually.

After working in several Automotive plants and talking to a DC think tank with managers, I strongly believe that they will do what they want and not what people want.
No wonder Honda and Toyota are doing so well. They listen to what people want.

I see a lot of Jeeps around here, moreso than Chryslers.

Just a note that I've read on Allpar news & rumors forum that, just maybe, the concept of the PT Cruiser may, MAY, not be dead. Meaning that they may just do another generation of the PT Cruiser as a retro mobile.
Maybe. Hey, it's a glimmer of hope ![]()

PT Cruiser has the clean finish lines with no rough edgness to it that the eye cant find unlike the HHR! lol..To me this car reminds me of the old school cars back in the day way before I was born. hahaha..Its totally different compared to cars today!!
Just an opinion!
