Default When does your fuel light come on

Ive been two tanks of gas on the 05 already. I either have been driving too much or cant keep my foot of the pedal (I wonder why that is)
Anyway, the fuel light comes on when Im between the red and 1/4 tank mark. The 01 I had used to come on just as it hit the red. So my question is, when does yours come on?

Mine goes on when the needle is in the red, or is it orange? And, if I continue driving in the red, a ding, ding, ding will sound. I filled my tank after the dings, and I put in 12.3 gallons. Which is telling me, I have 2.7 gallons still in the tank, or at least I hope I have.

Mine never comes on.

As a mechanic, I know that the fuel is the only coolant for the fuel pump module.
I know how expensive they are.
I know what a pain it is to remove the gas tank to change the pump.

I also know that I make a killing from car owners who need a new pump only because they didn't refuel at 1/4 tank. It's that simple. Refuel above 1/4 tank, and your fuel pump will last a long, long time.

I never thought about that! Another piece of good advice from MX-5!

Plus if you let the tank get down to the bottom, the trash down there gets sucked into the injectors.

Best policy is to refill no lower than 1/4 tank.

Another trick in the colder climates is to top up often to reduce the amount of exposed surface area in the tank- palces where condensation can, well, condense too.

For those that store the PT, or other vehicle, in the winter, should store it with the tank FULL.

Just like a bottle of Cabernet, not all to be completely poured, because of the sediments at the bottom of the bottle.

so I guess, I will never be able to use the 2.3 gallons left in the tank.
