Makes sense to me! And I am not surprised you've got your pedal to the metal & thoroughly enjoying your new ride!
That's funny. Do you really think DC would make a change to stop people from burning up their fuel pump? DC has been cutting the things they put into the PT to save money. Besides, DC makes more money off of the people who run their gas below 1/4 of a tank by selling them new fuel pumps. Car manufacturers make money off of car parts and not the cars themselves.

You should store the car with a full tank of gas and you can purchase gas stabilizer from most auto supply stores. The gas stabilizer will stop the additives in the gas from precipitating and keep it from varnishing and gumming up your carburetor or Injectors
