Default Emergency brake

My emergency brake handle on my PT sometimes pulls
back all the way. If I then push it forward and then pull it
back again it engages normally. This does not happen
all the time but happens often enough to be annoying.
Also, if it did this in an emergency, it would, well, suck.

I have taken it into the dealer twice and they claim they
can't duplicate the problem. The last time they said this
it did it for me as soon as I got home.

Has anyone else had this problem?

That is what happened to me too. Took it to the dealer and they could not duplicate the problem. Although they had my PT for the day. Funny thing is it has yet to happen again after that. I thing they are secretly fixing them as not to have a recall.

This only seems to happen to
me when you really yank it hard.
Try pressing the button fully
and pulling it up smoothly.
(If you yanked it during an
emergency you'd lock 'em up and
possibly spin. Be smooth and
deliberate.)

I guess its like driving styles. Everyone does it different. Just like everyone chooses different upgrades for their Pt. Love all then different looks though.

I also have had the same happen too me! However I agree with Mr T. it only happens when I've yanked the the thing pretty hard. I agree it 's annoying ... the brake is working as it's supposed too otherwise ,and therefore have never mentioned to dealer.

Yeah, the brake does seem to work but it should work
without the handle pulling back. It didn't do that when
it was new. I too will give up on it for awhile. I've taken
my car in there two Fridays in a row and the whole process
is losing its luster. Granted, I rented a car and didn't have
to wait around while they worked on it but it's the pricipal,
right?
