Default Border crossing question (Non-PT)

For those of you with knowledge of crossing into and out of the great north.
My 19 year old daughter and her 17 year old friend are driving to Toronto for a weekend. Besides the birth certificates, ids, and insurance card, will they need any other paperwork?

NOPE!! Canada/USA only require a birth certificate, and photo id to cross. ONLY if you are asked to present it.

Tell them to ACT COOL! When they are asked where they are going, answer exactly where- do NOT offer more than is asked. They will also ask if you are bringing beer/alcohol. Again, be firm- make sure she says that the beer is for Sean in Brampton (10 minutes N of Toronto).

Say no.

While she is here, KEEP her receipts so she can apply for the 7% tax rebate offered to visitors to this wonderful country.

Is she taking the PT??

Maybe, since she is only 17, get her parents to write a letter that she can keep on her... "I am xxx's mother. I am aware that she is heading to Toronto for the dates of ....". JUST IN CASE!

Its only kids that really need this, IF ASKED. Be prepared (boy scouts 1 0 1 ).

If you need someone's number/address for them to contact while they are here, just in case, EMAIL ME- Lori and I would gladly help them out, even offer a place to crash if need be.

Your Pal(s)- Sean /Lori
