Default Blue Dots or Not

I'm seriously considering installing some "Blue Dots" on my tailights... I'm just afraid of the following cases where I would have to go out and buy another set of OEMs (about $70):

1. Messing up when drilling (OOOPS)

2. Getting a "Fix-It" ticket... illegal in CA (if not ALL states) :/

[3]Experience (pictures) or Opinions (encouragement) anyone ?[/3]

I just can't get over the thought of my tail lights looking like a part of the female anatomy
8-o for you this might be a bonus!

Here are the instructions from PT Do it Yourself. I have found the instructions posted here are top notch, for other mods I have done.

I looked into this for a while because I wanted to blue dot my PT. Sent a note to the DMV here in Illinois and got a very negative reply...

I can't help you with the machanics of the install, but do beware... Very few states allow for "Blue Dot" tail lights. Those that do usually have a "show car" stipulation (like 1940 or earlier and plated as classic, antique or the like).

Minnesota seems to be an exception.

For those living in California, the CHP no longer issues "fix-it" tickets. Violaters must pay the fine and have the violation fixed withing a certain time period.

Thanks for the info about the "Fix-It" tickets... just another way for our state to make more $$$...

Saw your car (and dog in the front seat) at Sonic, but couldn't find ya. It just so happens that you and I modified PT_Sean's Ahooga horn installation pretty similarly (I'll post pics later).

PennDOT is nasty on these. I would have loved to do it!
