Default Big Red being repainted

Big Red, three months old, is having sections of her repainted. When I first picked her up May 31st I noticed missing paint along the end of the hood. Also, there is a fluid mark/streak going down the center of the hood. Over the last two months I have found numerous areas around the edges of the passenger doors that are missing paint. So, the dealership authorized those sections to be repainted. I'm not sure if the shop I took it to is going to wet-sand the clearcoat off the hood to remedy the fluid streak, or if they're also going to repaint the hood. I hope they match the paint correctly.

Say a prayer. (Is there a Patron Saint for Cruisers???)

I'll be praying for you. Hope your dealership has a great body shop. I am fortunate that my dealership's body shop was able to paint my car without any noticable difference from the original.

My cranberry had one tiny spot on the back hatch door that has just bare metal, no primer no nothing. It is only the size of a drop of water (maybe). I have not had time to take it in to be looked at yet. I am hoping to in the next couple of weeks.

Hope it turns out ok for you! Personally I have NO faith in the dealer paint shop cowboys. When I picked up my Silver LE less than a month ago, noticed a scratch in the drivers door up by the window, which I didn't notice until I got home (if the sun is shining on it you can't see it, so missed it upon final inspection). This scratch, which is about 1/2 inch long, is UNDER the clear coat. I've decided to just live with it or cover it up (more on that later). Have had bad experiences with dealer repainting in the past, they made it worse. Hope your experience is better!!!! Tom

I have noticed some paint problems with my Silver but decided to live with them. A few blotchy spots and thin paint. More times then not -- patch jobs look worse then the original problem.
I will live with it until My TUrbo Panel Cruiser
( some day ) is in my driveway !!!!!
DID YOU HEAR ME DC ???? TURBO PANEL !!!!!!!!
