I hit my TWO year anniversary of PT ownership just last week!

I remember the day I got it very well. I had wanted a PT for a long time but wasn't willing to put up with the 6-8 month wait or the gouging by the dealer on the sticker price mark up. We nearly bought one out of state the year before in North Carolina, but had to abandon that one. After looking at Cruisers on the dealers lot one Sunday I went back with my wife (a.k.a the Chief Accounting Officer) for a test drive the following Thursday and ended up taking it home! It was the end of March and my kid and I rode home in it with the sun roof wide open, hooting and hollering!

Never one second of regret and I still get a feeling of pride when I look at it. AND it looks waaay better than it did the day it left the dealers lot (and a good deal shinier too!!)

Obssessed? Yes of course I am!!!!

I ordered the Silver Eagle on April 12th . 2000 and six weeks later I was driving it home . I like the new rag top but won't trade the Eagle in on one . We may get one later when they start taking orders for the non turbo models.

In Feb.of 2000 we went on Ebay and paid $1,000 to get the number one spot at Sadler Auto in Emporia,Va. We were guaranteed to only pay MSRP when we picked it up.($19,050) Inferno Touring with sunroof and all options . We got the call on April 17th,2000 and picked it up April 21st
We kept it stock for a few months then added a Black Limited ( thus RED N BLACK) The Limited was traded in on a new 2002 Limited Edition F-150 "Yellow" Boss 5.4
The original Inferno is our baby and will be with us till my Grandson talkes me out of it!!!!!!!!!

Happy birthday Rachael!

I'm having flashbacks to the waiting period four years ago...that was a long six months from time of ordering in April 2k.

Hey, you reminded me that tomorrow is my 4 year anniversary of placing the order for my PT! It didn't arrive until September and the summer of 2000 was one of the longest on record!

As I went over 131,000 miles this week, I recalled the owner of the dealership picking me up at home and driving the 65 miles with me. I remember driving it on the road back to Tucson and having an ear to ear grin on my face. Now, with all of the mods and the familiarity, the grin remains and if often bigger.

Thanks for the reminder!

Blessings!!

My fondest memory of my original 2-and-2 window switch cranberry base was pulling up to Taco Bell and having the guy at the window say,"Wow, who made that car for you? It is SO bad!!". I told him Chrysler made it just for me. He said-"You can buy those?" I told him yes, but good luck finding one on the lots!!

Thanks for the reminder (and trip down memory lane) Padre Dave!!!

Got the same reaction when I first picked up my '01 Cruiser. Now the guys at the fast-food places ask me, "That thing got a HEMI?" It's deja vu all over again.

After placing my order and waiting a month for the dealership to locate a PT that matched my specifications for a 2001 Cranberry Touring Edition with no ashtray but CD player included, Freeway Chrysler found one for me in Edmonton. I was assured it would be shipped rather than driven from there, and I assumed ownership in July 2001. It's been 3 years of cool rides for me -- I still own it and I still love it. People keep asking me, "still like your PT?" as if there is a reason I shouldn't! Well, there certainly are a lot more PTs on the road these days, but I'm happy that mine was one of the first ones.
