Unhappy remote door lock-non requested activation

03 GT auto door locks have activated with car in garage and un attended. Also, locks have unlocked and relocked while driving a speeds above 15 MPH. Locks have activated at a very rapid speed such that the outer rear door panels have viberated. Dealer has replace left key lock switch and left front door inside lock/unlock switch. but problem has persisted to a lesser degree. Has anybody else experienced anything similar with the door locking electronics ? If so has it been fixed and what fixed it? So far he has been reluctant to replace the "computer brain" under the dash top.

I had the some problem shortly after I purchased my '03 GT. I looked for a problem testing fuses and what not. I found nothing and in a couple of days it just stop. I have now for almost a year and haven't again. Knock on wood. I would say if it doesn't stop in a couple of days take back to the dealer.

Thumbs up Re: remote door lock-non requested activation

I had the same issue about a year or two ago and it turned out to be that the door lock solenoids in the doors were shorting out.

Have your dealer check it out. It is covered under warranty.

Good luck!

Several owner have had this fault over the last 3 years. Every one turned out to be the control module.

The topics should be found in the search function.

Exclamation Re: remote door lock-non requested activation

Had this problem a year ago in Jan. Had a post titled "Haunted PT"
There is a TSB out for moisture getting into the door and/or hatch key cylinder switches. The problem occured a day after we had a lot of rain/wet snow and the temps dropped into the 20's during the night. Looked out before going to bed to find the interior lights on and the locks going nuts!
dealer replaced the 3 switches under warranty/TSB and the locks have been trouble free since.

Dealer replaced "remote keyless entry module" under dash top and problem has not reappeared for two weeks methinks he got it!

Angry Re: remote door lock-non requested activation

Had the same problem up until a month ago. I had washed the car and for a week after the door locks did as they pleased. You could stand beside the car and the doors would unlock and lock by themselves. Sometimes you could hear various door locking mechanism's acting up and sounding like a machine gun. The interiors lights would come on as would the running lights do when you use the remote control key fob. People where telling me my car was possed, and to get ahold of a priest.

When the car was in the shop to have the Carsen roof put on it, it continued. The shop staff disconected the battery as they where afraid they would get locked out of the car.

For some reason it has stopped. We have had enough decent weather that I haven't had to wash the car in sometime as I keep a car cover on it when it isn't being used. Am waiting to see what happens when I wash it again. I did inform the dealer that I had this problem and they say they never heard of such a thing before.

It will be interesting to see what happens when it is washed. The building security informs me it has happened many times in the last eight months since I purchased the car.

Maybe you should see your dealer about replacing the control module, Lush, before you get locked out where you don't wanna be locked out.
