Sounds to me like her dealer is using dealer talk to say "Bend Over".

ok got the real scoop today.
1,000 for the pump and labor
500 for a front brake job w/ new rotors (the ladies like to let those go to the metal)

its a 2001 that she got in 2000 but it has the dimpled wheels so I thought it was a 2002 oops

she the dealer manager and he screamed at her and hung up because she didnt call him back immediately (teachers have classes and cant call a dealer at whim)
the DC regional rep was no help at all.

she had the brakes done at pep boys for a resonable price
car still sits in driveway but will be traded in for a different vehicle, couldnt get her to sell it to me

Still can't believe a grand for a water pump changeout. She needs to change dealers, not cars.

If she tries to sell it in its present condition she'd be lucky to get $7,000 if anybody will even buy it.
hey tell your friend I'll give her 7 and pick it up next weekend....
