still rolling an '01 here. paid cash for it from a car accident i was in with a friend. broke my right femur in 8 places and had to have a ton of titanium put in my leg (rods and screws). i bought it with 17k on it. i wanted a stick and i wanted it barely used. you know how hard that is to find about 6 months after a new car has been released. i found one though. learned my lesson buying new from chrysler. don't do it. i bought a 95 neon sport coupe, first year in production. more problems with that thing in the first 20k. i think it's good to let someone else deal with the initial recall and bugs that come with a new car. just my thoughts.

54k on the pt. 0 miles on the engine that i am putting in this weekend. had a little blow out from to much boost. had all the new rods and pistons just didn't have the time....guess i have the time now.

What I've said since I got SLIK way, way back in August 2000: "I'll be buried in it!". Never gonna give 'er up!

I have a very early '01 Limited and plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off. I currently have 43K miles on it, and am getting ready to replace the tires and front brakes for the first time. Up until this point, I've only had to change the oil and filter, with no other issues...

I almost traded mine in when they came out with dream cruiser #1.
I fell in love with it, if only they had come with the turbo I would have bought it on the spot.
So we still have it with only 37000 kms on it which is low for a early 2001, she was made in june 2000.
No plans to sell at the moment but you never know with me.

Wink Re: How Many Of Still Have 01's And Plan To Keep It

I too had an 01 Cranberry LE and had planned to keep it, until yesterday, and then I spotted the new GT Inferno Red,Convertible with the Light Pearl Beige Leather interior at the Olympia WA dealership. They wanted $7000 over MSRP for the NorthWest adjustment, so I got up and walked out. This morning they called and we settled on the MSRP.
My-Oh-My it is nice, and now it's in my garage.

My 01 LE will be 4 years old in July. It has 30,000 miles. I will be selling it this spring. The web site is not complete - but check out this Kustom Kruzer here http://members.localnet.com/~pars/homept.htm
