Thumbs up Re: How Many Of Still Have 01's And Plan To Keep It

I'm keeping ours. This may change after visiting the Mpls. Auto Show in the next day or so... Seriously though I'm 95% happy with my 5 speed. A new paint job and a Turbo motor would make it 100%. Besides with the resale value dropping it would be dumb to let it go.

Nice Cruiser, Pars...

How come you're selling it? It looks like a keeper to me.

Thumbs up Re: How Many Of Still Have 01's And Plan To Keep It

After 3 years and 46,000 miles, I plan on keeping my 2001 Limited - -
after all, I waited nine months for delivery (remember those days?)!

Aside from an out-of-round Chrome Wheel problem (of which Chrysler
replaced all four wheels and GoodYear tires at 28,000 miles), a replaced sun-melted leather steering wheel (how can leather melt?), and peeling
center dash panel and side A/C vents (soon to be replaced free - out of warranty) - - - all in all, the PT is the best product Chrysler has ever built!

Aside from in the 2001 model year (not enough reliability and safety info), the PT Cruiser is "Recommended" by Consumer Reports - - of which, in 2003, just SIX all-American cars were deemed as '"Recommended" - - Chrysler PT Cruiser, Dodge Intrepid, Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable, Chevrolet Impala and Malibu.

Now, the 2001 PT Cruiser, as well as 2002 and 2003, are "Recommended" by Consumer Reports as Used Vehicles.

I have not read the 2004 Auto Issue from Consumer Reports, of which
is out on the newsstand as of this writing - - but am sure the PT Cruiser
is at the top, once again.

Additionally, if there are still folks out there who claim the PT Cruiser is nothing more than a "glorified Neon" - - then why is the Neon "Not Recommended" by Consumer Reports?

Go figure....
