Hey GOLDMEMBER,
Who is your insurance company? I have State Farm, and they classify the PT Cruiser as a VAN. We all know the PT is classified as something different, by everyone from the US Government and the NHTSA, to the Insurance companies! ![]()

I believe USAA and Ohio classify my cruiser as a truck/van.

I see they are now discriminating between cars with and w/o side airbags. Went back to 2001, and they have no info for a car with the bags. However, they do for 2002, and the ratings are the same as for the '04. The engineers at the Block Party did say there were some marginal changes between '01 and '02, and that small changes COULD have greater impact on ratings than you'd think. I'm choosing to believe my '01 w/SAB rates four stars!

It's good, but not that great a rating. Todays consumers expect to see a five star crash rating, not four.

I read last week on CNN.com that the cruiser is the 2nd cheapest car to insure in the US. I forgot what the cheapest one was but it kinda made my day to know I was paying a decent rate. Just thought you all might appeciate the info too!
