My bad- its the DC vans that use the 7176.

Thanks.

DESCRIPTION
Mopart ATF+4 (Automatic Transmission Fluid-
Type 9602) is required in this transaxle. Substitute
fluids can induce torque converter clutch shudder.
Mopart ATF+4 (Automatic Transmission Fluid-
Type 9602) when new is red in color. The ATF is dyed
red so it can be identified from other fluids used in
the vehicle such as engine oil or antifreeze. The red
color is not permanent and is not an indicator of fluid
condition. As the vehicle is driven, the ATF will begin
to look darker in color and may eventually become
brown. This is normal. A dark brown/black fluid
accompanied with a burnt odor and/or deterioration
in shift quality may indicate fluid deterioration or
transmission component failure.

I have high mileage on the dreamer. They found the original problem (tranny went out) at 53K. They attempted to repair it instead of replacing it. At 56K both front axles, the cruise servo, and the idle motor had to be replaced (all pieces of the drivetrain/tranny-which the poor repair-in my opinion-is what caused all the rest of the issues). It was at my 60k maintenance service that the solenoid was leaking. Each one of these repairs costs me $100 deductible per the warranty-so I am getting cranky about replacing the whole drivetrain 1 piece and $100 at a time.

They did say that the solenoid pack was a common problem-so common they keep the parts in stock. So I am keeping an eye on it now!

I'm telling you-watch that solenoid pack-I think it might be the weakest link in all of the tranny problems that seem to be going on. Apparently, if it leaks, you do not necessarily notice any fluids on the ground until it would be too late. I am having mine watched closely.

Whoa....this sounds like a serious problem I need to watch for. Where exactly do you find this solenoid pack? Does anyone have pics of it? I want to check mine out because the warranty expires in May.

hey all,
yup was the solenoid thingee, and they replaced a valve? what the hell are these things? both were done at no charge under warranty. fix took about three hours. i only found this becuase i was under the cruiser changing the oil and noticed the tranny fluid leaking thru the gasket.

I do not know what they look like-the mechanic did the work. I just know that my dealership stocks virtually NO parts-they had to order my plug wires-but they do keep these on the shelves-I am gonna watch it (well, have them watch it) really closely from now on......
