Default Help with Rearview Mirror

I just received this mirror today:

Click

It came with no installation instructions and I can't find any on ptdiy.net either. Has anyone installed one of these? Can you help me out? Thanks.

Sitting in the passenger seat, look at the right side of the mirror base where it appears to attach to the windshield. There is a very small set screw in the base of the mirror. Loosen the screw with an allen wrench and the mirror should slide "up" and off the mounting base. New mirror should go on over the mounting base that is "glued" to the windshield.

A set screw attaches the stock mirror.
The new mirror should have a slot that will slide into the stock mounting bracket that stays on the winshield.
If it has no slot you may have to remove the stock bracket and glue the new mirror in it's place. You can find the glue at any auto supply store. Use heat to remove the stock bracket.

I have the same mirror..It should have come with a adapter to slide over the existing one that glued to the windshield...Instead of a a set screw mine came with 2 screws of different sizes...I used the bigger one if I'm not mistaken.

I had one, but I changed it out, for a more radical style. Its in a box in the garage, maybe I'll sell it?

Maybe you shouldn't be such a tease and just put it on the For Sale thread!

Same here, until I gave it to Rachael. It fits perfectly over the glued bracket and the set screw tightens it. No problem.

I also installed that mirror on my Cruiser. The adapter at first didn't appear to fit, as it did not slide into place. A couple of taps with a small hammer was all it took. Love that mirror!
