Default Stupid Question

I have what is probably a really stupid question, but here goes. My wife and I have a 2004 TE Turbo. It is not the GT Turbo. When I look for performance related parts, everything is listed as either Turbo or non-Turbo. Am I to assume I use the Turbo, or does that refer to the GT?

For most things, Air intake, strut bar, etc, you need the Turbo version. The under hood configuration is a little different in the turbo. for suspension parts there is no difference between your turbo and the NA version. For exhaust systems, either will work, but the 'turbo versions' sometimes have better flows.

There's no such thing as a stupid questiion. Just stupid people asking questions! Just kidding! Actually, that's a good one. I was also wondering if the lower grill under the bumper is the same as the NA or the GT. That makes a difference with a number of exterior parts as well.

My understanding is that the 180HP turbo is the same as GT (including lower grille) except for programming that lets it use regular gas at less HP.

If you're talking about the exterior, I agree. But the engine is different. As I understand it, some serious beefing up went into the GT. The 180 is more of a bolt on unit. That's probably why you can't get a 5-speed, and no auto shift.

My old boss used to say "the only stupid question is the one you don't ask".
Unfortunately, I'm stupid on the subject you asked. All I know is my GT seems like a totally different car from the Ltd Edition I had.
