Default Just took my PT in for 15Km Oil change & a few complaints

Well here it goes:

Oil change (3rd) at 14,700 clicks
Done & tires rotated.

Report black substance on engine
Cause: like a few of you guys/gals mentioned it's something they spray on the parts.

Report Insinde Hood release not opening when cold
Part to be replaced on order...it's warranty work

Report Cause of Poor Fuel Economy
DRB TEST, NO CODES ,No Fault Found at this time however we discussed gas and not to use reg unleaded but the mid grade and every 5 fill ups us Premium ( discussed in my " I'm convinced...." thread)

Report Cause of Harsh Downshift when coming to a light.
DRB TEST FOUND CODE P0706, PERFORMED QUICK LEARN,ROAD TEST VEHICLE OPERATING OKAY.

So if anyone has this situation and I've read it here before...when coming to a stop it bucks around 2000 rpm's.....have them do a test and maybe the computer will do a download update

I can tell you the engine is a hummin'

A quick learn with a P0706!!!!!!!!!?????????????

There are 7 PAGES OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTS TO VERIFY!

Tell them to refer to pages 43-50 of the 2004 transmission diagnostic manual.

There are 16 possible causes listed in the manual.

This harsh downshift is *exactly* what I had with the 01 LE but no codes would appear. My downshift was really creepy. After 3 mechanics and a tranny shop, I gave up, traded for the 03 GT and a week into that one, the tranny gave up entirely. Ha !!!!!! Nice luck I've got.

MX-5 speaks the truth indeed. I saw that shop manual and there were so many diags for that tranny !!!!

Sorry I can't offer any advice since my 5 speed almost always shifts exactly when I expect it to.

By the way which dealer are you using?

Steve

Is it a GT?? Is that why they said use premium gas? My dreamer (not a GT) runs like CRAP if I put upgraded fuel in her!!

MX-5, I'm convinced that the four-speed Mopar tranny is just a conspiracy cooked up by auto repair outlets.
