Default Memorial service for fellow PT'er

I received an e-mail from RAGLADY ( Mary Ruth) today and she asked that I pass this info along to everyone on PTE. I'm sure everyone remembers 'Wishin4pt' from the very early days of PTE. What great folks!!! Wendall will be greatly missed here in our little community

FROM MARY RUTH'S POST ON ANOTHER FORUM:

Wendall Maners, husband of Nancy (wishin4pt), father of Jenna and Jared, passed away in January at Brookwood Hospital, in Birmingham, Alabama. There will be a memorial service Feb. 15th, in Gatlinburg, Tn., at 9:30 AM in the Clubhouse at Mill Creek Resort.
Wendall had been on a hunting trip and came home with a high fever. Doctors thought he had the flu but he continued to worsen. He was admitted to Brookwood Medical Center where tests showed STAPH infection. The infection had gone all thru his body and nothing could stop it.
I count myself very lucky to have know them for 3 years. We were all together at "Cruising the Canal" in October, 2001, and again at "Cruise the Falls" in 2002. I have a great picture of the family together at Cruising the Canal that I'll get someone to post.
Friends can email Nancy at maners@mindspring.com or send cards to: Mrs. Wendall Maners, 456 County Rd.406, Clanton, AL. 3045.
Please remember this wonderful family in your prayers and thoughts.

MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY, SENT TO MARY RUTH:

I know this is late notice, but we have planned a Memorial Service for Wendell next weekend at Mill Creek Resort in Gatlinburg. It will be in the Clubhouse at Mill Creek on Sunday morning, February 15, at 9:30 a.m. I would like for this to be a casual, informal time where people are free to share funny stories or good memories of Wendell. Please bring pictures you might wish to share as well.

They do not have any vacancies for Friday night, but do have them for Saturday and Sunday. If you wish to rent a park model, the rate will be $35 a night plus tax. Some of these are two-bedroom so you might be able to share with someone else. When you make your reservation, tell them you are with the Maners family. Campsites are also available. The phone number there is 865-428-3498.

I realize this is Valentine's Weekend plus some of you are coming to Blast in a few weeks. We would love to have you all present but certainly understand if you cannot make it.

Love,
Nancy, Jenna and Jared

Directions to Mill Creek Resort:

From I-75, drive I-40 east to Exit 407, turn south on Hwy. 66 to Sevierville. Go south on the Parkway through Pigeon Forge past light 8, turn right on Mill Creek Road (West) between the Toni Motor Inn and BilMar Inn. Follow the road 3/4 mile to the Resort (on Left).

WOW!!!

I can't believe it!! So sudden. I hope Nancy and the kids are OK-what a shock. My sincere condolences go out to them-way too sad. I will check the distance and see if I can attend-Monday is a holiday for me, so maybe I can swing it-so sad and unexpected!!
