Default I'm convinced where you get gas effects mileage

There has been some discussion re: title before BUT i'm now convinced it's true.
Here's my story.
Being filling up at Crappy Tire for the last 4 weeks (Canadian Tire) and I have been getting crappy mileage like 7 km's per litre on the highway for the last 4 weeks. I know the cold effects the mileage but not like that. So I fill up at the Sunoco and I'm back to 262 km's per half a tank...so Sunoco it is for me from now on.
Anyone else with similiar thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
I'm in the Toronto are...Whitby to be exact.

I've been running Sunoco almost exclusively in my GT. I switched to them a while back when I read that of all the major retailers, they have the least amount of sulpher in the fuel.

The 92 octain runs well, and I have never had a bad tank of gas form them.

BTW, Esso is the worse for elemental Sulpher content.

Years ago I use to buy gas from the local convenient store to put in my Mazda pickup. Then I started buying gas from the name brand stations and my mileage went from 16-17 mpg to over 20 on every tank.

I also use only Sunoco gas in my PT. I have done the math and I do get better gas mileage from Sunoco. I used to use Exxon or Chevron
gas but not anymore.

I was thinking that today. Instead of filling up at the usual place, used a shopper docket to get a 4c per litre discount at a supposed 'reputable' place. The gas gauge is just dropping at a hideous rate with the same driving...

Even her in the desert southwest, I have found the same concept to be true, though with different brands. Our Costco wareshouse usually offers the cheapest gas to members, but I have had more than a fair amount of trouble with that gas and mileage. They buy gas on the wholesale market and sometimes they get name brand, sometimes not.

I have found much better results with Chevron and Shell, though they are much more expensive. I also buy bottles of Techron from Costco and once a month or so put a bottle in the gas tank to clean the injectors. While I can't tell any subjective difference, the mileage tends to get about 1-1.5 MPG better if done regularly. I usually get 23-24 MPG with mostly 80 MPH highway driving, FYI.

A blessed Lord's Day to all while I head off to preach the Gospel!

Always have been concerned about buying discount gas. However, the local Safeway just put in a station (half mile from the house). Talked to a guy in from Phoenix for the soft opening, told me they have their own brand, own additives, etc. Talked to some friends who've used it with no ill effects. Got almost 30 mpg on first two tanks, highway driving, level, no a/c. That's about 1.5 better than name brands I've used before. Only got 26 on a 200 mile cruise yesterday, but did have some wind and hills. Guess I'll keep with it awhile, though I think I'll pick up some injector cleaner as suggested above.

I agree, not only do you get better gas mileage, but some gases make the car peppier. I used to use Mobile gas and now I get it at a Sinclair station, not sure what the brand of gas they use is, but the gas from Sinclair seems to make the car have a little more get up and go. When I get gas from Marathon, the mileage increases a lot. Unfortunately we don't have a Marathon station around here, but I prefer the "get up and go" anyway .
