Question Seat Belts

Hello everyone. I am a new member and a new PT owner. My wife and I bought a 2004 Touring Edition with Stage 1 Turbo in Inferno Red on Oct. 25th. We LOVE it. Being not on the small side, I am just wondering if there is a seat belt extension available for the front seats so that I can have a little more room when buckled up. Our state (NC) requires seatbelts, and while I can buckle mine, it is very tight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes.

Your dealership has them. I have a one laying around the shop for test drives with larger vehicle owners. It's about 6 inches and simply latches onto either belt connector.

One of my customers races a 9.18 second 1/4 mile and chases NHRA points. He wears a XXXXL and is all of 350lbs. We joke that his car would run 8 seconds if he found a 100lb driver.

Thanks, MX-5. I'll contact my dealer tomorrow.

Yes they do make them, I know here in CA you can get one free when you buy the car new.. I got one for my mom, when I bought my PT.. Makes it so much more comfortable for her..

Thanks for the invite, but I'm afraid we can't make it this time. Since my wife is the only one working right now, she has been putting in the OT on Saturdays. Maybe later on we can join in more.

RICKC,

Welcome to the forum! The seat belt extender is definitly a no cost item with a new vehicle (safety issue). Don't let your dealer charge you for it.
