This is one comment that I am not fully in agreement with. It would seem "unfair" that a stock Dreamer 2 would be in stock class, but a BASE PT, once they add a spoiler, rims, painted bumper, and chrome spears, are bumped UP to a higher class, even though, they are close to the SAME vehicle.
Jim makes a good point, and I have read those comments from others before- how DO you award a stock trophy?? You would think that a brand NEW PT would be "nicer" and "shinier" than one with 5,000 miles on it. Then again, since this is a friendly competition, I think the stockers whould be eligible to win something too, as much as a WILD PT. Tough call.
Sound competition- I can't speak for other events, but this is not something that I really want to do- it now means a section in the field for a SOUND-OFF, contacting/scheduling audiophile judges and vendors (Canadian ones, US ones probably won't come due to border issures), pre-laying out the field for how many PTs?, dealing with the "why isn't the sound-off area closer to the exit so that I can be first in line for dinner", and "I can't park there, its TOO LOUD", ... Personally, I'd rather keep our little thing a PT event, not a SPL /audio event. My 2 cents.
