Default Gas Tank - 16 Gal?

Has anyone ever put more than 13 gallons of gas in their Cruiser? Running a couple times on what I thought was fumes - Silvia has never taken more than 13 gallons. Has anyone actually run out of Gas - how much did the re-fuel take? Just wondering if there could actually be a 3 gal reserve?

I put in about 14 gallons once. Last fill up (this morning) was 13.075 gallons which surprised me, because the needle was nearly dead center on the very last marker on the gauge. I thought maybe some air was trapped in the tank and triggered the auto shut-off on the dispenser but thought it best not to push my luck. Got into the car and the gauge needle moved to the top of the full indicator line and stayed there during my lunch-time driving (15-20 miles).

Recently I drove from Boise to Seattle. I had a 6 gal spare with me and filled it up at Costco along with filling my tank. I drove until the 2 alarm went off (335 miles). I poured my spare tank in and then stopped a station about 5 miles up the road & finished filling it up. Only put in a total of 13.5 gallons. Got great mileage going back to Seattle. Soon realized I had plenty of room to play with. Most the time though, when I do fill up, it's in the 12 gal range.

57 litres here..........

When it's in the colder months the gas is lighter...don;'t know the correct terms so it takes more because of the correction for the colder temperatures

I asked about this a while ago too. I have never put more than 11 gallons in my car, even after driving it for 30 miles after the light came on. It was all the way down to the E. It makes it so I have to fill up more often, but I spend a lot less per fill so I'm over it.

Usually don't put more then 12 gal in at a time, although last fill up was about at 13.5, just after the second set of "bings"

Put in 13.75 gals last week after driving the car about 12 miles after the second set of double "bings"....That's the farthest I ever pushed it ..& I assumed I was on fumes.
