This is starting to sound petty, but I can't see a visual difference between the 2 grilles (standard and turbo). My '03 GT has six vertical slots (left to right) and four horizontal slots (up and down) across the lower fascia. I see no difference between the standard and the turbo. Perhaps the slots are larger in order to force-feed more air for the turbo?

I'm just curious about this because some of the aftermarket suppliers state that their chrome grilles won't fit the turbo models.

If you look closely at the lower grill of the following pictures, you will notice that the Turbo PT lower grill is wider and bigger at the bottom. At the very bottom of the grill, the turbo has 6 openings vs 4 in the N/A PT. The top grill is the same for all model years and the lower grill had to be bigger for the intercooler. But Chrysler did a nice job keeping the basic look.

Ah now I see it. Thanks. I think when I had the dealer install the chrome grill on mine they put the wrong one on. This will be investigated tommorow.

MMMMM.. Now I see what you mean. The difference is very subtle. The standard PT has sort of a "pointed look" at the bottom (with 4 slots) whereas the Turbo PT has more of a "rounded" look at the bottom. You're right... Chrysler did a very good job at retaining the original look.

Now, I wonder if the grille really does make a difference in feeding air to the intercooler...

Actually, it's not just the grill that's different. The bumper has no impressions in it...totally smooth. And the molded area around the driving lights/air duct is more rounded than the std PT....and there is no plastic air dam (curb feeler) at the lower edge.

Here's a picture of the OEM chrome grille I had my dealer put on when we bought the car. After talking to two differnet dealers today I determined that there really isn't aN OEM chrome grille pkg that was designed fo the GT. The one they put on mine was designed for the NA PT and that is why it is smaller. I don't think the size will make a significant difference in air flow. What do you guy's think?

WOW!! That is quite a find. The Dream Cruisers, and all GTs, have a different fascia than the rest, both in the lower openings, AND in the smoothed off "inserts" that the PTs have.

If your lower openings are smaller AND you have those indents, you have a PT fascia, chrome option, that has been painted a Dreamer 2 colour. If you do NOT have those indents, then its a THIRD version of the fascia- small lower openings and no indents.

For those that don't know, the chrome package has the chrome trim actually inserted INTO the plastic on the grill, its NOT an add-on.

As far as needing those openings for a GT- I would say YES, you need them. ANother Q- do you have the LOWER damn??? On the GTs, that is removed in lieu of larger lower openings, so if you have lost BOTH the air dam and a more open grill, then I would not be too happy.
