Thanks for the info about the transformer in the tube vs. the plug transformer ,Jer. That's a need-to-know piece of info!
Tim looked at your diagram & said, "Piece of cake". This is right up his alley. Guess that's why he's been doing it for 20 years!
( PS- he was amazed that I didn't ask HIM for info first. Oops! I figured 'car stuff' = Tim as LAST person to ask. )
I* think * I MIGHT get him to install a couple this weekend....but it's his first Sat. off in 4 months ( 12 hour days/6 days a week --must be the only place in Silicon Valley with work!!) , so....maybe I better NOT ask.

I'll post pics if we manage to get anything... besides 'kickin' back' ...done!
