YOU CAN BUY THEM AROUND HERE FOR $37K, A DEALER I KNOW IS ADDING 2K, FOR MARKET VALUE. THEY DO NOT COME WITH THAT MANY ADDED OPTIONS, HOW COULD THE PRICE POSSIBLY BE 50K?

Mark-up. That, basically, says it all.( Maybe he said $15K & I misheard him at $5K - which is bad enough).
It sure was pretty. I didn't know it only has 215, though. That's kinda sad. It LOOKED like 250+.

Remember, this area was selling PT's off the lot in early 2000 for as much as $38K....( & I even saw a Stone White dented stock base, used, for that much once!!!)

Just got word that the deductible is being waved on all repairs. The tech found a short in the cable that runs to the sensor, thus the "intermitent" problem. The parts are on order, all the repairs & services will be made & I should be cruisin' again tomorrow! YAY!!! I miss the PT sooooooo bad after a week & a half of driving the Mustang that I can't wait!!!!!!!!
So- I guess even though I did a lot of complaining, I'm happy that the "underlying" issue seems to have been found. I know John/Bugdude21 had his PT repaired by the same shop, for the same problem (had a short someplace & blew a couple of sensors also). He said he's had NO problem since, so I am hoping this holds true for me as well!

Rachael--

Glad to hear yourgetting treated well.

Yes, it was a short somewhere that was causing my tranny sensors to overload and cease functioning.....once they fixed the short....NO PROB....

he tranny sensor was replaced twice before 24K miles......I just passed 54K miles and have had no problems.....

Hope to see you on the road soon! And hey...if you drive by my house, swing by and say "hi" once in a while!

Paid for? Not when there's more mods to do!

Glad it worked out so well, Rachael.

Boo hooo hoooo!
Just got a call from the shop. Me thinking they're going to say "Come & get it" instead hears, " There are more problems & the car will be in at least another day".
Right now it needs a new oil pan, filter & gaskets. They're also checking into why it's running so rough.
Man, 1 more day. ...at least. I told them, "Have it washed & waiting when it's ready....'cause I need to do some SERIOUS Cruisin' after 2 weeks" !

You know you're a PTaholic when.......

Hee hee hee!

I know you miss your baby, but it is kinda funny how we all pine away when our PTs are in the shop-even if it is self inflicted (for mods). Go for a nice LOOONNNGGG cruise when it gets done and you will recover quickly!

I'm Cruisin' again! Whew...no more withdrawls!!
Runnin' a-ok , so far. MUCH fun was had this moring/afternoon....just driving around & wasting expensive gas.

Ended up paying just over $100....but that wasn't for the tranny. I also had them do the 52K service, they replaced a cable & connector in the tranny, I got a new oil pan & gasket too, and a seatbelt fixed. Then they scoped the engine for any other problems....

All in all, if it runs great & the tranny problem is FIXED....I'm happy!
