Okay, so since I have heard it isn't necessary to warm-up an engine for any more than 20 seconds, how is starting before you get in going to affect the seat heater? Or is it the idea that the cold start is what makes the glitch possible? (and are engines different today about the warm-up time?)

Starting before you get in is going to elliminate the possibility of your butt hitting the seat heater switch.
