Smile any PT with higher milage

My whife and I are looking at buying a PT but alot of people say bad car . I have asked around but every one I talk to has very low miles there for no problems. Does any one have a PT with higher mileage to tell me how they last? Any info is helpful

Thanks in Advance

I only have 34K but no problems in the first 19 months. I believe Padre Dave had over 90K before a major automatic transmission repair. That seems to be the main area you don't want to get skimpy about maintenance with.

Cool

Mine will be flipping over to 80K probably around Thursday

Best car I ever owned.. and I'm not known for taking really good care of my cars.. LOL Mechanically... I haven't had to do a darned thing to it except get a tune-up and change the oil.

There was that little fuel hose disaster awhile back.. but that was a design flaw which was recalled and fixed in the early 2001 models.

Only 27K but no problems whatsoever. This is THE BEST vehicle I have ever owned and I have owned many vehicles in the past thirty years. Fit and finish is outstanding, I have seen high dollar luxury cars that weren't put together as well as the PT.

I think you are just asking the wrong "lot" of people! I have put almost 47K on my dream cruiser in 17 months-I have not had any major problems with the vehicle. The only thing is those darn goodyears. They also seem to be very safe rides-heard of lots of wrecks, but only 3 fatalities.

53K miles & 3.5 years of ownership here. Only minor problems on mine over that time. All have been covered under warranty/extended warranty except one set of brake pads. The tranny is my car's major trouble spot, but wierdly enough, it's a $5 part according to my dealership's records....so, I guess as far as tranny troubles go, it's more a PITA than a costly repair ( that's the kind I hate.). I'd highly suggest a Chrysler Extended Warranty. Not because the PT is a bad cau. Just to make you feel secure. I know it was worth every cent in "security" factor & one major repair before 100K miles & it'll pay for itself.
Would I buy the PT again, if I knew then what I know now?? A resounding YES!
Hope to see you back as an owner.
