As many of you here know, I lost my job back in March due to downsizing. The company where I worked for almost 21 years sold off half of their company and then downsized the rest leaving me without work. Since I had been there for so long I did get a pretty good severance package so I took a few months off to get my head together and think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.
After being in the computer industry for 21 years and hating the last 15 years of it I decided to make a career change. Even though the money isn't remotely close to what I was previously making I decided to persue my lifelong dream job. After 6 long weeks of interviews, Psychological exams, written exams, drug screens, polygraph tests, physical exams, FBI background checks, and butt-loads of paper work I got the word this morning that the job of my dreams is now mine. My official start date is October 2nd. The only downside to this is that I won't be able to attend the Return To The Beach 4 event in Myrtle Beach like I had planned because of my intense training schedule. I hope everyone takes plenty of pictures for me. Anyone care to guess my new job?
