Angry dealership-tried to rip me off

went into the dealership for an oil change & tire rotation (6,000miles) after an hour and half (they were "busy) we were on our way. this all occurred thursday night. today (saturday) i'm at a family get together & i notice the front rims are covered in brake dust---now if they had rotated the tires....the front tires would be in the rear & the rear tires would of made it to the front. now i had only driven 60 miles from the time i ( supposely) had the rotation done.
i called the dealership and got a hold of the service manager ( different one from thurs night) i let him have it--told him i couldn't believe they ripped me off on a tire rotation (the oil change was free- -- the rotation ran alittle over $16)--he started making excuses saying "they were probably busy, "maybe the service manager made a mistake that night " ( but my paper work said the rotation was completed)
to make a long story short---the guy got a little cocky on the phone with me. i basically told him i was too busy to come in today to rectify the situation--and told him i will be in on monday.
what i'm basically asking--what would you all do in my situation.? i'm thinking--get my rotation done...the next one done for free and then never let them do any chargeable work ever again ( i do have free -life-time oil changes)

tough call. on one hand, dont want to get them mad since you might need them for future service. on the other hand, you paid for a service they didnt perform. I think I would take it back and make them perform the service that you paid for but didnt get.

I would be awful tempted to report them to DC.

If you have a different dealer in town you can use I say report them in a heartbeat. You never know DC might throw in a freebie for your inconvience.

It is amazing what dealers will try to pull , I would ask em to refund
your money after they balance and rotate the tires for you.
You just never know ,
whenever I get my tires rotated I put a small crayon mark on
2 of the tires ether front or rear that way you know it is done.
Just a small mark only you would notice...

Since the service manager got "a little cocky", I'd go to the owner of the dealership and discuss it in a friendly fashion. Then I'd ask for a refund on the work that was not done. Then I'd take all my work (even the oil changes) elsewere. I could never trust that dealership again.

I would ask for a credit, in writing.. Or that the service be credited and I can bring it back at the time of my choice for the tire rotation. Then if they give you attitute more than you have gotten just report them, don't even tell them you did it, just do it...

And you don't need to mark the tires I always bring in my PT when it is filthy, dirty rims tell a story... And since my dealership does a courtesy wash I put a sign on the dash "DO NOT WASH" and tip the guy who brings me a filthy PT a couple bucks, never had a problem....

There is NO excuse for the manager to get cocky with you. I would definately bring it up to his boss. I would have let it slide if not for the managers attitude

Demand a refund & don't ever go to a dealer except for warranty issues. Find a tire dealer who believes in customer service (Les Schwab out here) or else do it your self. You'll never get full satisfaction from a dealer.

thanks for the suggestions------ i really feel strong about this--i know what you mean when you say i can "t trust this dealership again. Hell i hope they are doing the oil changes ! ! ! then again maybe i should of marked the filter .
i'm leaning towards having them rotate the tires,

reporting them to DC

and never going back there again.
