Actually, it is not really a minor ding that I'm trying to fix and I'm prettty sure I am going about it all wrong. The whole thing is actually kind of stupid and I have to live with the mistakes I made from the onset of this situation.

Back in March, driving on a main street, in Woodbridge, someone cut me off (and kept going), to avoid contact, I swerved to right as there was a plaza entrance and thought I could avoid any damage by continuing to turn into it. But the turn was too quick and scraped (and pushed in) my rocker panel on the curb. I didn't notice it at the time and since there was a pile of snow on the corner, thought that the noise was a just the snow scraping the underbody. I noticed the damage a week or so later when I went to rinse off the car.
To avoid an insurance hike (since I didn't get any information about the other car, except the type and colour of car it was), I didn't report it and figured I would fix it at my own expense in the summer. Well, due to various reasons, I am not in a position to pay for the repair and I'm pretty sure it's too late to report it to my insurance company now.
So I am trying to pull out the damage as much a possible with the Ding King. It is working quite well, however, using a lot of glue sticks. Although I'm sure there is a better way and I am going about this all wrong, I just want to fix it up a bit and put some protection on it before winter comes.

Pretty stupid huh?

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you have any of the glue left? I used to be in the adhesive industry years ago, specifically hotmelt application equipment(what your using) If I can take a look at a sample of what your using I might be able to make some suggestions or even have some around.
Let me know and maybe we can arrange a place to meet up.

Hmm, your damage sounds very familiar to the damage I have on my Cruiser, and the way it happened also sounds familiar.

Trying to leave the school parking lot over the winter, I drove over what was part of an island (couldn't tell due to snow) and through what I thought was a small pile of snow. Well, it actually was a large chunk of ice, and it scraped/dented/pushed in a large part of the side skirt on the driver side. (Haven't told anybody about it til now!)

Do you have pics of the damage? I'm really curious as to how everything worked out for you...

Hi Tommy,

I will post some pics shortly. I have not completed the repair yet as it is taking a lot pulls with the tool. I am still working on it and probably will be for the next few weeks. My damage in on the passenger side.

Hmmm, just thought Ding King was on of the usual TV money grabs. Tried to take a peak at how Dent Doctor did that sort of work but they wouldn't let me near that section of the shop. They actually had that area curtained off behind hung tarps.

Hey Reid,

Good to see you back. My Dad was telling me about a V6 2 tone Cruiser he saw in Ajax. He thought he found out something about the PT before I did (V6). He looked a little disappointed when I already new the plate.

What OEM doesn't claim "don't use any product other than our own which is specially formulated for the application". While this is true in some cases the majority are just trying to protect there sales$.

Keep in mind that the glue used in the glue sticks will melt again at the same temp as original and soften at temps before that. It would have to get pretty hot though somewhere around 180C. The hot melt (depending on the type) will typically get brittle and loose its bond in the cold as your hood and scoop expand and contract at different rates.
Check with a local bodyshop supply. Mfg's are starting to glue on things like door skins to avoid distortion and premature corrosion both induced by welding. It's likely similar to an epoxy.
You could also maybe use the 3M tape similar to what they use for the ventvisors.
