Default Break Light

Hey all - I've been reading threw old posts and I saw that some people were low on brake fluid and had their break light come on for no reason.

I'm in that boat now, so I went to top off my brake fluid and it was fine.

Any ideas? I'm out of warranty!!

If your brake fluid is fine then it's probably time to replace your front pads.

I don't think the light is wired to the brakes at all- just the fluid.

Mike- is the light ALWAYS on? Or just when you press the brakes?

Is your emerg. brake fully seated everytime? Maybe the merg. brake switch.

Whatcha doing Sunday? John and I can have a look. Shave the back, we'll do the hot tub.

Added about a 1/3 of a can of fluid about a month ago. It solved the problem.

Light would randomly come on while driving prior.

1/3 can of brake fluid and a match will solve a hairy back problem every time.
