I want to thank all of you that have responded and kept this post up near the top, and to also thank those that viewed the post and have acted on it without making a comment - equally important as far as I am concerned.

As one of those U.S. citizens that was delayed in Canada on September 11, 2001, I also want to say again how deeply Jer and I appreciated your warm and caring welcome at such a difficult time. While all we really wanted was to be home, Canada made us feel welcome and safe and showed in ways too numerous to mention, that you cared. We will never forget that. It was a tremendously courageous act for Canada to take in all those flights not knowing what might be arriving on them.

We are fortunate to have many friends throughout the world, Canada, Australia and England come to mind first and always.
Thank you very much.

While the 11th will be a hard day to get through, I believe we should spend a portion of it being thankful for all the good things in our life but also to commemorate those lives lost by trying to conduct our own lives in a way that will honor their memory.

I probably won't get this right, but I heard something recently that I had heard before and thought it quite appopriate.

Life should not be measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

I intend to try to follow that more in the future and not let the day to day irritating "stuff" take on more importance than it should. I wish the same for you.

Marilynne,

Those sentiments you posted are very heartfelt....for every American, and friends of Americans...

Today will be a very sad day here in the NY/NNJ area, as most of us know at least one person that was involved in the 9/11 tragedy.

We ALL have to make sure that the politicians that claimed to 'vow not to rest until the ones responsible were brought to justice' are also held responsible to their word.

Here's to all the heroes of that horrible day and every day since ....

You guys in the UK are the best! I get emotional thinking about how you demonstrated in the streets to show support and solidarity. Thank you for being our cousins!
