Default spare donut question

I have a question for all of those out there that have dropped their spare-for any reason, not necessarily to change a tire. I dropped mine Friday night and discovered that there are "cage" marks burned into the donut! Apparently the one side sits really close to the exhaust, gets hot and burns into the rubber. I'm gonna call today to see if there is anything I can do about it-anyone else noticed this????

Made an appointment for Saturday for the dealership to check it out.

Not sure if its BURNT in, or if its just the hanger hardware that compresses the rubber when in the UP position. I have mine mounted with teh valve pointing BACK to I can check on the pressure occasionally, but I wonder if its worth rotating it to evn out those marks.

I am pretty sure it is burnt/scored by the cage. The marks are only on the side where it was sitting next to the exhaust-they matched up perfectly. The other side was clean.

AH!! Wonder if its BOTH sides when you have the duals.

I'll look tonite and snap a few pics for yah, see how mine are doing. Would seem to be a real defect if it was a burning condition!! Damn.

Yeah, especially if it is more than a cosmetic problem. Have a good spare is kinda important.
