Default Cure for pitted lower grill?

Does anyone have a cure for the "roadrash" that develops on the lower grill? I had my car for about 8 months with no incidents of roadrash and then one week ago I noticed several small pitted areas on the lower grill that, because I wash my car once each week (sometimes more), were not there previously.

I avoid rock and gravel trucks like the plague and have not drivin through any sandstorms, nor do I work in an area where sand would be blown across the front of my car.

It's very discouraging, but like my wife said, if I wanted a Sunday car, I should park it in the garage and never drive it to work.

Anyway, I'm terrible with the touch-up paint blob remover system - the chemicals used always draw the blue out of the touch up and leave the silver/ pearl tint, which stinks. My front right fender looks like it has acne (but it's smooth - no touch up blobs).

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I used a clay bar last weekend however there are little paint chips all over the grill. Don't those need to be touched up?

Use the touch-up and then use the clay bar after the paint has set to remove the "blob". Shouldn't take the color out of the paint.

That's probably DC's new color for the Cruiser if they follow their present trend...
