Angry Squeaky front end.

I recently had a bad squeak in the front end of my 2001 LTD. and it was found to be sway bar bushings. They repaired it under warranty and a day later the squeak came back. Anyway, they finally had to replace both lower control arms as the bushings were gone. This car has about 30,000 miles on it!!! Can I look forward to replaceing these again in the next 30,000 miles? It won't be under warranty then! And this is a very expensive repair!!! Anybody else had this problem???

I posted something a couple of days ago in the care section. I have 75,000 kms ( I think approx 45,000 miles) and was told by my dealer that the lower control arms had to be replaced because the ball joints were gone. I'm also wondering if this is normal. I would never expect to have to replace lower control arms with each time I have to replace tires.

How about some feedback from others? Is this the norm?

That is not a common defect.

Use the search function on the forums and you will not get many posts about control arms.
