I haven't had any problems with the Krispie kreme eaters mainly due to not driving with my neons on. I have my strobes and neons on separate switches

First, if they are new they are full of piss and vinegar and are probably right. I would think that most states have laws about lighting on vehicles. Such as number of lights and color of lights. You may have read the statue yourself and not realized it could be applied to neon. Also, the system is stacked against the motorist. Its all about revenue. You go to court and it is going to cost you. Very few people in traffic court get off without some kind of fine. If they are not on a seperate switch put one in and only use them while parked. Be careful about parking on the road with them because that may also be illegal. There are a lot of stautes on the books in most states that are not enforced but if these guys are rookies they are going to enforce all the off the wall ones.

You may want to check out the StreetGlow Message Board on various State Lighting Laws
Good luck to you . You are doing the right thing researching for the solution before they actually nail you. You'll be prepared ![]() For example.. In Massachusetts this guy says: "depends on the cop. 300$ fine for red or blue (some say only flashing) 300$ fine for strobes w/o permit anything else they can only fine you for "aftermarket lighting" which is 35$ but not to many of us have been pulled over and actually got tickets... i got one because i argued with the cop and refused to take them off the car. others show a little skin (andy) and the stateys let them off."

IF they nail you with a huge ticket
, take the time to go to court. I got a $200-range ticket knocked down to $35, TWICE ( 2 separate incedents...both involving 'illegal' lighting). It's not better than NO ticket, but it's better than paying the full fine to save yourself a little time.GOOD LUCK!!

Okay, here's the deal. Oklahoma Law says that you cannot display any light brighter than 300 candlepower, so exactly how bright are our neons? Also, my neons are green and Oklahoma only has laws against red, blue, and flashing lights. What really makes me mad is that they tried to tell me to turn them off last night while I was parked at a Drive-In Restaurant.
